James E Maynard

JAMES comes from a deep church background, growing up under the pews of a Freewill Baptist Church with his Great Aunt and Uncle, traveling, watching and help his grandfather, a deacon, evangelize. I accepted Jesus into my mind in elementary school in the church where my grandfather served as a deacon. It took many years and into my adulthood before I accepted Jesus in my heart and felt the Lord truly in control of my life. During my Christian walk I have served in various roles within the church, including, Lay Minister, Sunday School Teacher, Discipleship Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, Finance team and Ordained Minister.

I live by the life priorities of God, Family, Church, Work. I consider two verses to be my lifes’ verses Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, “with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” This was the first verse that I memorized as a child, and it is encouragement to live for Christ and that if he calls you to it he will carry you through it. Secondly, Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. This was verse that I had never noticed until it was pointed out to me by my former Youth Pastor during a time that I particularly struggled with the calling that I was running from.

I have a heart for the lost, I have a desire to see the saints equip for the purpose of Godliness and for the church to be the living, breathing, moving hands and feet of Jesus on earth. I am a strong supporter of Biblical preaching and teaching. I support discipleship and education from the youngest of age to the eldest. I believe there is work for everyone within the Kingdom and God and that God hasn’t called anyone to be a bench warmer.

Outside of Church, I Volunteer as an Firefighter, EMT and Chaplain with the Middle Creek Volunteer Fire Department in Floyd County. I am a co-founder and serving as the Executive Director of a Critical Incident Stress Management and Mental Health training team to serve first responders in East Kentucky. I am a board member for the Middle Creek Community Development Club which runs a food pantry for the Middle Creek Community. I also serve as a Chaplain for ARH Paintsville and Highlands ARH. I enjoy reading, being outdoors and being with my family.
